At Recon Environmental, we take pride in our comprehensive Environmental Monitoring and Assessment services, ensuring that all activities related to invasive species removal and site clearing align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. For the Woodfibre LNG project, our Qualified Environmental Professionals (QEP) carried out the following key activities:
Daily Sweeps and Monitoring: Each day, our team conducted detailed sweeps of the clearing areas to identify and assess invasive species and monitor wildlife activity. This proactive approach ensured that all necessary precautions were taken to minimize environmental impact during vegetation clearing and grubbing.
Delineation of Invasive Species: We meticulously delineated invasive species within the designated clearing areas. Our team supervised the clearing and removal processes, ensuring invasive species were removed according to the guidelines outlined in the Environmental Protection Plan (EPP) and Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP). This careful management helped prevent the spread of these species to surrounding areas.
Supervised Clearing and Removal: Our environmental professionals worked closely with the clearing and removal crews, overseeing daily operations to ensure that invasive species management protocols were followed precisely. This included clearing vegetation in a way that minimized environmental disruption while safely removing invasive species.
Crew Orientation and Compliance: To maintain high standards of environmental stewardship, we ensured all work crews were fully oriented and trained on the specific processes and procedures required for invasive species management. Daily oversight of the crew’s work ensured compliance with the EPP and CEMP guidelines, reducing the risk of non-compliance and environmental harm.
By integrating rigorous environmental monitoring, daily supervision, and adherence to regulatory frameworks, Recon Environmental successfully supported the removal of invasive species in the Woodfibre LNG project. This approach ensured the project’s environmental integrity while meeting regulatory requirements for site-clearing activities.
